    Markdown Support

    Gaida · 0 · Posted

We do have some simple HTML styling options such as <b> <i>.

Since Markdown is pretty supported everywhere, I would love to be able to use Markdown to format Pushover notification messages, such as **bold** or *italic*. Pretty much the same styling options that we are using now with HTML just using Markdown.

Why? Some services do not support HTML styling of notifications (looking at you Grafana), but I would love to have styling or even better: hyperlinks.

    persistent audible alerts

Anders · 1 · Last reply by aedm

A very basic feature is missing in the Android app: persistent audible alert. I can be asleep when the alarm comes, and then I want the notification to work just as an alarm clock, it continues to ring for several minutes or until I manually acknowledges it. I know about "priority: 2", but that is not really the same thing. A single sound every 30 second is not a wakeup alarm. An alarm to wake me up should be a persistent audible alert, just as my alarm clock in the morning. As a workaround I can select the longest sound

Increasing Ringer Volume - starting with Vibration only in App

Peter Mitteregger · 1 · Last reply by Nikolay

    Hello,

My kids sleep in the same room as I do. At the same time, I must not miss an alert when on duty. So I have to make Pushover really loud to never miss it. Which wakes the kids... Much nicer would be if I would tell Pushover to first vibrate for 20 seconds, then start at low volume and get louder slowly to max volume.

    Please!

    Thank you!

Alexa skill for notifications on Amazon Echos

Jens · 2 · Last reply by Todd Haehn

I would really like to send notifications to my echo via an API. And as I can see, there is currently no Alexa skill with this option. Maybe it’s a thing for pushover?

Add the option to have 2 different application icons for dark/light theme

    Charlie Hird · 0 · Posted

My application icon uses black as the main colour. (not able to be changed...) This works great on the light theme apps. but if the user is using a dark theme my icon does not work. I think it would be slick if we could have the option to add a second icon to match with the dark theme.

    Android home screen widget dashboard

    Dax · 0 · Posted

Node-RED has a great dashboard feature. I am monitoring several parameters and have set up the NR dashboard to display virtual LEDs to indicate their status (red/green).

It would be fantastic if Pushover was expanded to include a customisable home screen widget which could display such things.

Happy to chat further if you have questions about how it could work.

    All the best,

    Dax.

Acknowledge emergency notifications via android actionable notifications

    Janitha · 0 · Posted

On the android app, whenever a emergency notification is triggered, can the notification include a actionable thing to click on the acknowledge it. Currently you need to open the app and acknowledge it on the app which is a bit cumbersome.

Eg. On gmail notification, there is action directly on the notification such as Archive or Reply https://imgur.com/a/Ku4TBaY

Bring back the Applications list with message counts

    Honza · 1 · Last reply by W.D.

The Applications view on iPhone used to show all apps sorted alphabetically with number of messages next to each app name. This was perfect. Now, after updating to the latest version, I see no message counts, each app row takes more space because it shows a preview of the last message received, and the apps are no longer sorted alphabetically. This is a useless mess. And I could not find an option in settings that would let me to switch back to the old view.

Would be great if one could keep a notification as unread by swiping right for more options.

Allow multiple Pushover Accounts to login on the same device at the same time

Ned Bingham · 2 · Last reply by RossV

It'd be nice if one can use two Pushover accounts at the same time, like a personal account that is for home-lab or other personal notifications and another for work/business where one or both might be part of separate teams.

In my case, I personally have been using Pushover for monitoring my personal projects at home for a little more than a year now and just recently got my employer to pay for Pushover for a team at the office. Since I still have need for Pushover on my personal projects, I felt it a little inappropriate to move my

    Official Desktop App?

    Zachary DuBois · 0 · Posted

Will there be a macOS Catalina official Pushover client now that Catalyst makes it easy to convert an iOS app into a macOS app? This would be awesome considering both unofficial Pushover desktop apps are now unmaintained.

Add Section to store Favorites/Important/Pin message

Federico · 1 · Last reply by Brian

A new Section in the left panel called "Favorites" / "Important" / "Pin" message.

Each message will have an icon to mark it or slide action.

The reason is to easily read important message, and not scroll until I find the one I want to make an action or Search by text.

Setting for notification duration (stay on screen)

    Ricky · 0 · Posted

I'd like to resurface this request if it's at all possible as it would be extremely helpful for us using this service on an Android TV (more specifically, an Nvidia Shield)...

    https://support.pushover.net/i81-setting-for-notification-duration-stay-on-screen

The default notification length is only 3 seconds which is far too short... I'd love it to stay on for 8 or 10 seconds.  The app "Notifications for Android TV" claims they have a feature to control the length of time that a notification is displayed... Are they not using standard Android notifications?

    Tray app

    mark.faine@pm.me · 1 · Last reply by Mike

I would like a tray app (preferably for Windows, MacOS, and Linux) that is just a client for sending to my existing devices, it does not need to receive messages. I don't need another web based client. I want something that allows me to quickly shoot off messages to any or all of my devices

This could be determined by where you select do not disturb. Also, just so you know. I really like PushOver.

I'd love to be able to accept user input on a push notification.

    Adamclerk · 0 · Posted

I believe this is different than the 'Actionable' push notification requests.

I'd like to be able to send a notification that needs specific info from a user.

IE. I watch my credit card transactions. When I get a new one I want to send a notification to my phone to as the user provide a category. I'd love to use the Pushover APP to do this.  I'd love a new type of message that opens the pushover app, prompts the user with a configured input form, and then POSTs that information to a configured URL.

Allow user to select a delivery group during a web-based subscription flow

    Cuu508 · 0 · Posted

External services can implement web-based subscription flow (https://pushover.net/api/subscriptions#web) and use it as an user-friendly mechanism to create Pushover subscriptions and retrieve subscription keys. Users don't have to manually copy the keys around, which is great.

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like the web-based flow does not support delivery groups – the user cannot select what key (their user key or one of the delivery group keys) will be passed back to the external service. It would be great if this could be added, – we could then use the web-based subscription flow to also set up subscriptions to Pushover

Customize custom sounds in Pushover clients

    Ramon · 0 · Posted

Its great that Pushover now supports customizing sounds https://pushover.net/api#sounds However, end-users should have the ability to override each of these sounds.

For example, I have a app that sends 4 types of notifications:

    - Generic information (ding) - Alarm (buzz) - Healthy (yeah) - Unhealthy (sadtrombone) However, these are the sounds I favor so that I don't always have to pickup my phone. I can imagine that other users of my team want to play different sounds but currently they cannot customize this. If would be great if these custom sound id's could be overriden.
