    Markdown Support

    Gaida · 0 · Posted

We do have some simple HTML styling options such as <b> <i>.

Since Markdown is pretty supported everywhere, I would love to be able to use Markdown to format Pushover notification messages, such as **bold** or *italic*. Pretty much the same styling options that we are using now with HTML just using Markdown.

Why? Some services do not support HTML styling of notifications (looking at you Grafana), but I would love to have styling or even better: hyperlinks.

Use open client API from JavaScript code - CORS is blocking requests

    Lukasz · 0 · Posted

I am using chromebook and I implemented a website that acts as a status bar (showing various notifications about calendar, weather etc.).

I want to add support for showing pushover notifications but I cannot access messages api:

Access to fetch at 'https://api.pushover.net/1/messages.json?secret=xxx&device_id=yyy' from origin 'https://mywebsite.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: The 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header has a value 'https://client.pushover.net' that is not equal to the supplied origin. Have the server send the header with a valid value, or, if an opaque response serves your needs, set the request's mode to 'no-cors' to fetch the resource with CORS disabled.

    The problem is

    Apple Watch double-tap-feature

It would be very useful, if the Pushover App on the Apple Watch could support the double-tap-feature to acknowledge the notification.

    Tagging messages

    Cakemedia Group · 0 · Posted

I would like to be able to add Tags to messages. These would be displayed in the clients. Tapping a tag would lead me to a filtered view showing only messages with this particular Tag.

Tags could be pushed as a comma separated list.

An exemplary use case would be server monitoring, where each message contains the service name, host name and data center name as tags. This would make it more easy to show messages regarding a particular thing without manually typing it to search in the message content.

Option to swipe right and mark notification in app as unread

Would be great if one could keep a notification as unread by swiping right for more options.

    Title only notifications

    J Bond · 0 · Posted

I understand that a notification needs to have some content.

Currently, a "Message" is required, and a "Title" is optional. I would like to be able to send a "Title" only, so no "Message." Would it be possible to make the minimum requirement one OR the other?

    Allow retry Parameter below 30s

    ASeidel · 0 · Posted

    Hello there,

would it be possible in the future to make the "retry" parameter configurable under 30s.

I would like to create a notification that arrives every 5s within about 1min. This would be much more helpful in getting a user's attention in a short window of time than sending a notification every 30s over a long period of time.

I would really appreciate it if you could provide a solution to this in the future. Perhaps you could limit the general number of notifications so that your API is not overloaded.

    Many thanks and best regards

Android: Don't open the app from notifications action

    Jared · 0 · Posted

When pressing the "acknowledge" button from the android notification the Pushover app opens. This is unnecessary and kind of annoying.

For example, the Gmail app's notification actions do not cause the app to open.

Need a way in web and mobile apps to mark multiple messages as read at once.

    Maximillian Carper · 0 · Posted

Currently, both in the web and (at least Android) mobile apps, we have to open each  Pushover message/notification, in order to acknowledge it and/or mark it as read.  Neither UI seems to offer any way to select multiple messages at once, to perform an action on multiple messages, like "Mark as Read" or "Acknowledge" (which I'd presume would also mark the selected messages as read).  When we receive several notifications/messages at once, it can be frustratingly tedious to have to open each message to mark it as read, and/or acknowledge it, in cases when we don't need to (re-)read each

Support Notification Channels Specific to Application

    Nick B · 0 · Posted

    (Agile User story-like:)

As a user of Pushover on Android, I need the ability to receive notifications with custom: sounds, priorities, vibrations, and lock screen visibility settings specific to each Pushover "Application" so I can have a better understanding of what notification needs my immediate attention or not.

This can be fairly easily (namely minimal testing needed) implemented into the existing Android app. An Application could have a different Notification Channel for each Application and Pushover Priority level. But these can be created in real-time, in advance, or by user selection.

For example, Google Messages on Android allows a user

    Updatable notifications

    daern · 0 · Posted

One useful feature would be updatable notifications. When processing alerts from CCTV you might have an initial "something's happening" alert, which would then be followed some time later by an image which might get refined to a more accurate image or video a bit later.

Having Pushover accept all of these notifications but instead of creating individual alerts, it could update the original notification to include the additional data as it arrives would be a useful feature. This could be done by supplying an optional, unique notification ID in the API call which would identify that subsequent follow-up messages are

Android Pushover App without Google Play Services (Websockets instead)

    Tts · 0 · Posted

Hi, It would be great if the PushOver app for Android did not require Google Play services to run. When using custom ROMs like GrapheneOS, Lineage or similar privacy focused ROMs, the Google Play services are either not present or installed without network permission (Play services are deliberately signalled as offline). It would be great if the Android PushOver app could use the already available websocket itself as an alternative or fallback on such devices to register a new device and receive the notifications.

    More Than 1 Base URL

    Portbox · 0 · Posted

Allow more than 1 URL as the base URL. My app runs both on the internet or intranet, and users on each would be using a different URL. Let the PHP page decide which to send as the success/failure URL. I would like my app to be able to use https://domain.com as well as http://website.local on my intranet.

make it optionally to copy the text AND title

    TylonHH · 0 · Posted

I use the copy button very often, but I have to delete the title after inserting.

Or I mark and copy just the text, but that’s often tricky.

so I’m really looking forward to select what the copy button copies.

Add opt-in telemetry for service degradation warnings

JayGuerette · 1 · Last reply by JayGuerette

After a client opts-in, whenever a notification was received, it would notify YOU that the client received it. This would allow you know in real time that notification delivery for a specific carrier or in a specific region was slow or even non-functional based on a timeout on acknowledgement. You could then proactively warn enterprise customers about a service degradation and otherwise make that information available to non-enterprise end-users.

Background: I was really confused as to why certain work flows were broken and after wasting a lot of time investigating, figured out that AT&T in my area had extremely high

    Snooze notifications on Apple Watch

    Robinwillems · 0 · Posted

Hi there, i think it would be great if you could add the ability to snooze notifications (for example 5 minutes, half an our, or 1 our) directly from your Apple Watch. I've seen this been implemented on my Ring doorbell in the past, so it seems to be a somewhat standard feature that could be implemented.

Like to hear your thoughts on that if it could be implemented. Thank you, Robin

Bring back the Applications list with message counts

    Honza · 1 · Last reply by W.D.

The Applications view on iPhone used to show all apps sorted alphabetically with number of messages next to each app name. This was perfect. Now, after updating to the latest version, I see no message counts, each app row takes more space because it shows a preview of the last message received, and the apps are no longer sorted alphabetically. This is a useless mess. And I could not find an option in settings that would let me to switch back to the old view.
