Options to set the date and time format.

    Hernanbadilla · 0 · Posted

Adding settings that allow users to choose the format in which dates and times are displayed (dd/mm/yyyy, mm/dd/yyyy, dd, MMM YYYY, etc.) will greatly help with comprehension in countries that are accustomed to using a different date format.

Option to force use of plain text portion of email?

    Allen Hancock · 0 · Posted

When setting up a queue, we are given an option to `Force HTML`

I'm having an issue where the HTML version of emails we get from a service are far too busy, and wish we could push only the plain text portion.

Is there a way we can get Pushover to ignore the html, and only act upon the plain text part?

Option to always show all notifications in app

    Aubzoot · 0 · Posted

The left hamburger menu in the app allows you to restrict notification shown to those of a particular type. The problem is that the app remembers what restriction was used the previous time. This creates a serious usability problem when the app is used for notifying elderly people and people who are not very computer savvy. The issue is that they open the app, do not see the critical notification, and it is not at all obvious that they have the notification type restricted. I even forget myself sometimes.

Suggestion: please have an option to revert to showing all notifications

    Mark message as unseen

    Lasse · 0 · Posted

Option to manually mark a message as unseen.

I often read a message I need to follow up on later, but then forget it. Mark it as unseen, so it’ll show on the Pushover icon would help.

Either way, thanks for a great service for the past 10 years :)

    UnifiedPush Support

    Zac · 0 · Posted

UnifiedPush (https://unifiedpush.org/) is a decentralized push notification system. It would be nice if Pushover had support to use it as an alternative to Apple's or Google's push notification systems.

This would allow even more devices to receive push notifications as applications with support for UnifiedPush are developed, provides an alternative for privacy-focused users, and helps avoid vendor lock-in to Apple's and Google's ecosystems.

Pushover for Desktop should show a button to register browser notifications

Nick Christensen · 1 · Last reply by Nick Christensen

I'm unable to grant notifications permissions in Safari.

When I load the page, I see the error:

An error occurred while trying to show a browser notification. To give Pushover permission to show notifications, click the icon next to the URL in the bar above and set "Notifications" to "Allowed" or "Always allow", then click the reload button.

And in the console: "Notification prompting can only be done from a user gesture."

The toolbar version of website settings doesn't show options for Notifications. In Settings > Websites > Notification, there is no listing for client.pushover.net, and the setting "Allow websites to

App: Swipe left/right to Browse list items

    So · 0 · Posted

    Hi there,

as a (Android) app user I am used to be able to swipe messages.

In the message list, one should be able to mark/delete notifications, this is idea i298-option-to-swipe-right-and-mark-notification-in-app-as-unread.

Given a list of 3 notifications I would like to tap on let's say message A to open the message detail of A. After watching A I would like to swipe to the right to see notification B. I also want to be able to swipe left in details of B to show item A again. And so on.

So swiping in msg detail navigates through the message list without

    quiet hours extra features

    Kim · 0 · Posted

So I'm using Pushover for some time now and it works great/reliable. There are soms features which I miss to make it more comfortable, especially during night time.

So the main reason I use it is for (home) alarm notifications or critical messages. I use the alarm channel on my Android phone on volume 5. Altough this is too loud during night time. So these features would be great to have:

    • be able to specify the volume of priority messages during quiet hours
    • increasing volume for messages with retry interval (start from volume to...)
    • be able to disable vibration during

Cooldown / Rate Limiting for Webhooks and API Messages

    babili · 0 · Posted

    Problem:

I use Apple Home to monitor sensors and trigger Pushover notifications via the API when certain thresholds are exceeded (e.g., temperature or humidity). The issue is that while the sensor value remains above the threshold, multiple API calls are made in quick succession, resulting in a flood of redundant notifications for what is essentially the same ongoing event. When the new webhooks feature was announced, I was hoping it would include some form of rate limiting or cooldown functionality to address this – but unfortunately, it doesn't.

    Proposed Solution:

Add an optional cooldown/rate limiting feature for webhooks and API

    Additional length on email body

    Zachary · 0 · Posted

I want to see the full email that is being sent to Pushover. For example, I need to unsubscribe from a vendor's marketing emails, but cannot do so currently because only so much text comes through the app, thus cutting off the unsubscribe link.

Unfortunately with this vendor, their marketing emails automatically match the user's email, which is what their notifications are based on...which is my pushover alias. While I hear an alert that one of my servers is down, it may just be a marketing email about their Super Bowl ad. I can't find any literature about the current

Scheduled notifications. Post now, but receive later.

    Peter Brülls · 0 · Posted

I would like some delayed delivery option.my reasoning: quiet hours are good and well and for emergencies I use emergency priority, but among my use cases is the following: I have self written IMAP client running 24/7 which sorts and analyses mails and generates notifications. Quite a few are below “need to see immediately” but in the “see first thing in the morning”. As such it would be great if I hadn’t have to check the pushover app but just get them delivered when my quiet hours end. For my main use case I implemented it myself by writing my

    Support for deduplication keys

    PushoverJack · 0 · Posted

I'd love to see dedup key support added.

The idea being that if multiple souces send the same notification, only the first source to call the API with a configurable time window will trigger a notification because all source share the same deduplication key.

For example, when multiple redundant monitoring systems are the souces of an notification for the same event (like a host goes down), only the first source to report the event triggers a notification, and all subsequent sources sharing the same dedup key for that event will be dropped.
