Clearing/deleting notifications across devices

I have pushover running on multiple devices - iPhone, iPad, PC, etc.

It's quite annoying that notification persist on multiple devices, even when I clear or delete them from one device they remain on the rest.

Can it be setup to enable synchronisation of actions across devices so that when I delete a push from one device it is also deleted from the others.

This perhaps may need to be setup at the Delivery Group level as a means of identifying which devices the notification should be removed from.

I agree. All devices under my user key are technically mine, so if I dismiss a notification from my delivery group, I'd like it to be dismissed off all devices under my user key.

Both iOS and Android have APIs to clear push notifications, so there should be no technical issue.

Pushover claims to already have "notification dismissal synchronization" but I've never seen it work across any of my iOS and Android devices.

Was there any update on this in the latest posts? I didn't see anything. It would be great to see some dismiss options whether it dismisses across all devices with my key, or the time until it dismisses can be a variable for each key. I have multiple people that use Pushover from my notification source and they all express some frustration that notifications persist for so long.

Does your notification source send any to Android users? I can't speak to other devices, but the Android app has a toggle:

Settings > Notification dismissal sync

I haven't seen anything about notification expirations. Pushover app is v3.7.9

Jack State - that only sync's notification dismissal, not clearing/deleting them. If I delete notifications on one device they still exist on the other.

Derek: Thanks for distinguishing. I hadn't used Pushover in years, until coming back to try it out last Monday. For all I knew clearing = dismissal, I'll read up on it.

Since I had just reinstalled the Android app, and saw Norm's comment was 6 days ago, I wanted to make sure he hadn't missed a recent update. Cheers

Notification dismissal sync is already supported on iOS and Android, though due to limitations on iOS, remotely clearing notifications does not happen on a timely basis (silent notifications that we send to clear notifications are processed at a throttled rate).
